Thank you so much to each and every person that has graciously shared bits of information and things they have witnessed in the Consolidated Road triple homicide, other major cases in Preble County, and other incidents not discussed in these forums.
The information we have all received is naturally quite sensitive, and has a great bearing on many cases - both solved and unsolved. Our purpose in publicly discussing these incidents was to collect information that may be presented to an agency outside of Preble County.
We now request that any information you may have be directed to the Cincinnati office of the FBI. You may offer information on any case or incident. Please reference Preble County rather than a case number.
This is not an Ohio-specific organization, the Cincinnati office is part of a federal agency and conducts investigations for the U.S. Department of Justice - so to those who have expressed concern with sharing information with an Ohio agency, please know that this goes well beyond the State limits.
To those who have kindly shared their contact information, I will be contacting you personally to ask for permission to turn over your information. I realize this is a big moment - some have waited 20 years for this - and you may need time to think about this big step.
Please voice any concerns of personal safety to the FBI. I have submitted my own experiences and they are aware there have been past issues with many witnesses. However, I believe that the current local authority in charge, Sheriff Simpson, has displayed an attitude of wanting to clean up any former problems and there will no longer be any threats of intimidation or retaliation. In fact, U.S. law guarantees your safety - the United States provides assistance to victims and witnesses of crime while they are involved with the federal criminal justice system.
I would like to share a U.S. legal code which pertains to much of the information we have received...

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States. For the purpose of Section 242, acts under "color of law" include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official's lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.
The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.

For anyone away from the area, please contact your local FBI office and explain that you have information on a Preble County investigation which the Cincinnati office is handling. You may hand over any documents or testimony to your local FBI office.
Please pass this information on to anyone who may have something to offer to the FBI, but who perhaps does not have access to the forums and websites that have been created in these cases.
