I would like to add a Woody thread, and invite information if anyone remembers this mysterious death.
I ask because when I was still in Eaton, I was told more than once to "be careful, don't end up like Woody"...
I was at one time invited to meet with authorities about our case away from there offices. I documented this with OCBI when they opened their investigation.

I have had many warnings about staying away from the Consolidated Rd. murder case. I have been told of 4 specific incidents of people dying mysteriously after looking into this case.

I heard that he was a biker, and everyone told me about him because I ride, too. He was greatly loved by his friends, everyone was quite emotional when speaking of his demise. I heard the story back in the early '80s and do not remember much of the details. And it was the first story I ever heard referring to questionable cases in PC.
R.I.P, Woody

I knew Woody. Used to work with him at one time. I can't believe anyone would want to hurt him.
Woody was "biker" I think only in the sense he liked motorcycles, he was a cut-up and court jester all the time I was around him.

The last time I saw him was the night of his passing. It was at The Stable. He had one or two drinks,I cannot remember if he liked Jim Beam or Jack Daniels. He was there about an hour.Come to think about it I don't think I ever seen him have more than two drinks in The Stable. He left nutsten en-gitten in that white 1965 ? Chevy II V8 4spd. headed south on Barron St. I heard the next day they found his car in a Field off US 127 south of town rolled .Another friend of ours Tony Casten meet the same end a few years earlier. They were two of the towns Motor-Head Legends.

I am sorry about your friends Puppyiesville. Are you speaking of Woody Hall? D*amn. Once and for all, since no one else will say it: "Woody" = Alan Sarver. It was rumored that he was run off the road by one of Preble County's finest.

Yes, Alan is the name I heard. I was told about it when I lived in Eaton in '81.
Yes, it was out on a dirt road - "they" love doing business out there, right Lindloff?!?
Yes, it was commonly known that authorities were responsible.
Every time Woody was mentioned his friends professed great love for him.
R.I.P. Woody

A few of my papa's friends who were at his funeral and were P-O'ed about the investigation and started asking questions and such, also died in "mysterious" car accidents. There were more than one set of tire tracks out there on those roads, but of course considering who was doing the investigations, that was never taken into account and they were written off as car accident fatalities. Hmm..

The Marker name actually came from a step-father. I know there are a lot of Markers in the area, I will have to do some hunting to see if there is a relation to the step-father.

My apologies, I always think of the story as happening on a dirt road because I had heard of evidence of 2 sets of tire tracks. The dirt road was my own assumption.

Its nice to know that all of you speak highly of Alan Sarver. He was a huge part of my life before he died, because he was my DAD !!!! I have heard all the rumors & speculation as to what "REALLY" happened that night & all of them are pretty much the same. I guess we will never know the truth, the only one that knows what happened that night is HIM !!! Thanks jericho for the link to his obituary. Take Care all of you & its nice to know that he had alot of good friends & that people really cared for him !!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Tarheelsgirl72, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Perhaps the most gripping of sorrows from these tragedies are the victims' children who had to grow up without their parent. We care very much for YOU, too.
This child is yet another dire reason to put a stop to the heartless group of people who devastate lives merely because they have had decades to get away with it and feel no remorse for their continued activities. The pleas of these children alone should put a fire in every citizen to do all they can to help put a stop to this madness.
Tarheelsgirl72, we are here for you if you ever need anything at all, and we shall carry your father's story with us in our efforts to cry for justice.

tarheelsgirl; I don't know who you are, but I want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I am the granddaughter of Ralph Marker. (step-granddaughter) That explains the relationship. Leon Marker was My (as well as Donnie Marker's) Step father. Hope this helps in some way. I remember my grandfather working at that gas station when I was a little girl. lsm

I don’t know if these forums are even used anymore but I have some questions about a family member, a local, who died of suicide but has been rumored to be more sinister. I followed this years ago but I am only now hearing about my own ties to the community’s corrupt leaders. Does anyone have any info that you might be able to help me with regarding a suicide in 2008?
